Living in Downtown Miami
Downtown Miami runs from the Miami River north to the Omni area, between Biscayne Bay and Interstate 95. Biscayne Boulevard faces Bayfront Park and Museum Park, where the Pérez Art Museum and the Frost Science Museum sit on the water. Flagler Street is the historic main street, lined with older commercial buildings.
This guide also covers Park West, the Arts & Entertainment District around the Adrienne Arsht Center and Miami Worldcenter. Worldcenter is the mixed-use district between North Miami Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard. Downtown has two rail hubs.
Government Center is where Metrorail meets Metromover. MiamiCentral serves Brightline and Tri-Rail and connects to Metrorail and Metromover.
Much of the existing stock is the wave of glass condo towers built along Biscayne Boulevard in the 2000s. The current pipeline adds some of the tallest towers in the city on Biscayne Boulevard, and a cluster of high-rises around Worldcenter and MiamiCentral.
