Area guide
Miami's new condo towers sit mostly on the mainland side of Biscayne Bay. They follow a band of neighborhoods that runs north from Coconut Grove through Brickell and Downtown to Edgewater, Wynwood and the Design District. Brickell and Downtown hold the tallest buildings.
Metromover, the free automated train, loops through both. Metrorail runs south from Government Center through Brickell toward Coconut Grove and Dadeland. Biscayne Boulevard is the main north-south street, with Bayfront Park and Museum Park on the water downtown.
The Miami River separates Brickell from Downtown, and the Venetian, MacArthur and Julia Tuttle causeways cross the bay to Miami Beach. North of Downtown, Edgewater has a row of bayfront high-rises. Wynwood is built at a lower scale on former warehouse blocks, and Midtown on a former rail yard.
Coconut Grove keeps a lower skyline and a dense tree canopy. The largest share of new supply is in Brickell, Downtown and Edgewater, where branded residences and condo towers are expected to deliver over the next several years.
